Welcome to the VeteranCraft

Citizens of Vetronia are encouraged to register and contribute to this wiki. Contributing to the content of the lore wiki is highly valuable to our community, and rightfully grants citizens enourmous respect from the community. The Lore Wiki was born out of a lively discussion

Vetronia
Vetronia is the main world in the Minecraft server of VeteranCraft. Vetronia is accompanied by other secondary worlds, including Outer Reaches, Seraph's Realm, The Nether, and The End. Vetronia is the only current permanent world in VeteranCraft. If citizens want to settle down, they typically settle in Vetronia. Vetronia was founded in September of 2011, after the long-awaited Minecraft 1.8 update.
Vetronia is a play on the word 'veteran', named after the server, VeteranCraft and citizens are called Vetronians. A live, birds-eye view of the world can usually be seen on its live map

Regions of Vetronia
Vetronia consists of eight regions. Regions are divided up into districts, and within those districts, there are settlements and cities. The eight regions are Welmyaer, Eld, Syreaem, Lovicia, Okaem, Trymaer, Nova Vetronus, Vetropolis.
Cities of Vetronia
Vetronia has dozens of settlements and cities. Settlers are free to venture into the wilderness and stake their claims. Many are humble homesteads, while many others have grown quite notably. While many settlements are home to only one or two residents, some settlers have decided to group together to form cohesive urban and suburban communities.

Posting Guidelines
All citizens are encouraged to register for the Lore Wiki and begin contributing content. We do as that if you are going to contribute content, including but not limited to adding pages, editing pages and uploading photos, you adhere to some common wiki etiquette, as well as follow our policies and guidelines hereby laid out. VeteranCraft's Lore Wiki policies and guidelines are developed by the community to describe best practice, clarify principles, and resolve conflicts.
User Roles
- Unregistered
- Members
- Trusted Members
- Wiki Moderators
Moderators are to settle disputes between conflicting wiki editors and enforce rules and guidelines, including potentially banning rogue members or trusted members who break these guidelines or rules. Anyone who is banned from the Lore Wiki will also be banned from VeteranCraft itself.
- Wiki Administrators
Content
- Be respectful of contributions from others. You are encouraged to add information when and where you can, but do not delete content that is not breaking any other guidelines.
- Please leave substantive changes to the format of the homepage or any navigation up to the staff. If you have suggestions for such modifications, please make a thread in the forums
.
- When you see some piece of content is incorrect or missing, login and edit it. Do not pester staff in-game, or via forums, or private message to make the change for you. The very nature of a wiki is to allow the community to make such changes.
- Do not upload or post offensive content or it will result in a ban from the game and the wiki.
- Try to be dynamic in your content. Include diagrams, images, lists, tables, and other media in addition to simply text.
- Link as much as possible. When there is a term in your content that warrants its own wiki page, link to its page or create a link to a stub page at least once on your page, and no more than once per section of your page.
- Do not publish copywriten material without permission.
- Only staff shall edit the guidelines and rules section, upon discussion with one another.
- If you are editing a list, table, or some other form of content that is formatted by its original creator, keep with the existing format unless you are improving the format for the entire piece. Example 1: If you are adding an item to a table that is in alphabetical order, add your contribution into the list alphabetically. Example 2: If you are adding a city to a list where all the city names are bold, make sure your city name is bold.
- Use common sense. Keep in mind all edits are viewable in the content history, along with your name and what changes you did, and all edits are able to be rolled back if deemed to break guidelines. If your contributions result in a rollback, your wiki account may be demoted, and if your contribution that resulted in a rollback was deemed malicious, you will be banned from VeteranCraft and banned from the Lore Wiki.
- Terms of Service: By using this wiki you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to abide by the guidelines hereby set forth.
Best Practices
- Be clear and concise.
- Do not write in the first person.
- Use correct punctuation, capitalization and grammar. The Lore Wiki is held at a much higher standard than the forums. If you see spelling or grammatical errors, please login to edit them. In doing so, you are not offending anybody, in fact, you are contributing to the betterment of the Lore Wiki.
- Use h2 headings for top level categories, and H3 categories for next-tier subcategories.
- Create a table of contents when the content quantity warrants it.
- Link to related wiki pages at the bottom of the wiki page (or H2 section) with a bulletpointed list prefaced with 'See also:'

How to Use the Wiki
First, you need to register for the wiki. Currently, all accounts will need to be manually confirmed, and you will not receive an email confirmation. Please check back after a while to see that we've manually confirmed your account. After creating your account and logging in, you will see at the top of each page that says "Edit this page". In addition, at the top-right of every category and subcategory section of a page, you'll see a small pencil icon that will allow you to edit by section. Once you have clicked to edit, you will see a content editing dashboard which will allow you to add and modify content. Editing wiki pages utilizes syntax, which is a lightweight markup language for editing wiki pages.
